Vanessa Croome is a critically acclaimed soprano based in Montréal — equally at home in operatic roles and in contemporary commissions written for her voice. She is signed to ATMA Classique.
In 2023 she co-founded Duo Étrange with cellist Sahara von Hattenberger, an ensemble commissioning new work for soprano and cello. Their début album — featuring music by Nicole Lizée and others — releases in 2026, supported by the New Music USA Creator Fund.
She is an alumna of Oberlin Conservatory and McGill University, with young-artist training at Opéra de Montréal, Santa Fe Opera, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and Staatstheater Augsburg.
